CogniDial FAQ
|
1. Can I begin using the service today? |
|
Yes, but make sure you
apply for service before you attempt to use the service or your call will not go through. |
|
2. Do I have to dial an ACCESS CODE? |
|
No. Once you apply for service, our system will recognize your number and automatically prompt you to place your call. You can not
use this service from any phone other than the ones you registered. Please read the next FAQ question. |
|
3. Why does the system ask me for an ACCESS CODE? |
The short answer is that the system did not receive the proper ANI (Automatic Number Identification) phone number from the telephone network.
Without the ANI, we can not do our magic database lookup to find your registered ANI lines.
The worst ANI problems we have encountered are related to cell phone networks. Instead of passing along your Actual ANI they
send out a Group ANI that your cell phone provider makes you share with other cell phone users. This happens mostly when you roam
out of your normal local coverage area. Sometimes the Group ANI is sent out even when you are not roaming.
This service is not compatible with office environments which use a PBX that uses a hunt group of outbound lines. You can order a
Calling Card access code from the main menu of your personalized web page. After you login, click the
CogniCall Calling Card web link and fill the form out. |
|
4. How will I be billed for calls made with the Dial Around service? |
Payments are billed to your credit card automatically. Each ANI phone number registered for service comes with an initial $25 usage limit.
If you do not use your entire limit for any line we charge your card at the end of each month for the amount used.
Users may request a higher usage limit for the ANI lines that have more than $25 of monthly usage. Usage limits greater than $100 will
require an additional credit application.
You can manage your ANI lines by logging into your On-Line Account Administration web page.
|
|
5. How do I increase my ANI Line Usage Limits? |
|
You can manage your ANI lines by logging into your On-Line Account Administration web page and selecting the [ANI ADMIN] menu option.
|
|
6. How do my ANI Line Usage Limits work? |
Whenever you come within 90 percent of your limit your CogniDial account is MARKED to be charged.
Your card will not be charged right away. CST processes credit card charges several times in a day. Payment processing can take up to 8 hours.
If you exceed your limit before we can charge your card, only that particular ANI line will be temporarily deactivated until payment
has been processed successfully.
To avoid temporary deactivation we strongly suggest that you increase your ANI limit to the estimated
monthly usage amount.
In addition, if your ANI Line Usage limit is too low you may end up with multiple charges to your
credit card for a single month. |
|
7. What are the billing increments? |
|
All CogniDial Dial-Around calls are billed in 6 second increments, with a 60 second minimum.
|
|
8. Do I have to switch my current long distance provider in order to use Dial-Around? |
No. CogniDial Dial-Around service is accessed by calling our toll free number
(which will be emailed to you when you order) and does not require you to switch your long distance carrier.
Your long distance service providers should allow you to dial toll free numbers.
When you dial the CogniDial Toll free number from one of your registered ANI lines,
you are dialing around your long distance provider. That is why we call
our product CogniDial Dial-Around.
Cognidial can be used to place long distance calls at low rates but our services
are provided in addition to the customers regular telephone services.

9. Are there any monthly fees or hidden costs? |
No, there are no monthly fees or hidden costs.
However, there are two taxes that CST is required by law to charge.
The first is a 3% Federal Excise Tax charged to US residents only.
This is based on the monthly invoiced amount. For more information please
read IRS TAX FORM 720.
The second is a 7.3% Universal Service Fund Tax charged to all telecommunications customers.
This is based on the monthly invoiced amount. For more information please
visit web site www.universalservice.org ( 973-560-4400 ).
CST does not profit from the collection of taxes.
Federal Excise Taxes are collected by CST and passed on to our
good friends at the United States Internal Revenue Service...
Universal Service Fund Taxes are collected by CST and passed on to
our other friends at the Universal Service Administration ( Part of the FCC )
